What cookies are
A cookie is a small file your browser saves when you visit a site, so that the site can recognise something on your next visit — for example, that you have been before. Similar technologies (mobile advertising IDs, local storage) do the same job, and this policy covers them too.
Cookies used on this site
The site itself sets no cookie it needs to function — there is no login and no basket. The following are set by our analytics and advertising providers:
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors to count visits | Up to 2 years |
_ga_* | Google Analytics | Keeps the state of the current session | Up to 2 years |
__gads, __gpi | Google AdSense | Measures ad interaction and caps frequency | Up to 13 months |
__eoi | Google AdSense | Ad fraud prevention | Up to 6 months |
IDE, DSID, test_cookie | Google (doubleclick.net) | Serves and measures personalised ads | Minutes to 13 months |
FCCDCF, FCNEC | Google (consent message) | Stores your consent choice | Up to 13 months |
Why we use them
Analytics tells us which pages are useful and which need work, without telling us who you are. Advertising pays for running and updating the guide, which is what keeps it free and independent of the mall's management and the brands in it.
Ads may be personalised based on your previous visits to this or other sites. The full explanation is in the advertising section of our Privacy Policy.
How to control or switch them off
Personalised ads: turn them off at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors at aboutads.info. You will still see ads, but they will not be based on your activity.
Analytics: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
In your browser: every browser lets you delete cookies, block them, or block only third-party cookies from its privacy settings. The site works fully even with all of them blocked.
Visitors in Europe and the UK: a consent message appears before advertising cookies are set, and you can change your choice later from the link it places at the foot of the page.
